Taste Chongqing with context
Not a race through popular rankings, but local flavours—and knowing how Chongqing people actually order and eat hotpot.

Four days without an hour-by-hour checklist. We began with how they felt, what they genuinely enjoyed and the images they wanted to keep, letting Chongqing unfold at their pace.

THE TRAVELLER PROFILE
Not a race through popular rankings, but local flavours—and knowing how Chongqing people actually order and eat hotpot.
They would walk farther for a memorable image, but did not want the entire journey to become a sequence of photo locations.
Famous places still mattered, alongside lanes, slopes, river breezes and everyday life.
HOW THE JOURNEY UNFOLDED
It was almost 11 p.m. when we met them. They had hoped for a late meal but were visibly exhausted after the previous leg of their trip, so we agreed to begin whenever they were ready the next day.
An itinerary serves people; people do not serve an itinerary. We chose a restaurant local friends enjoy, then showed them how to cook the beef and mix the dipping sauce. Their first dinner became a way to understand the city, not merely consume it.
From the first meal, move a little closer to local life.Jiefangbei, Liziba, Baixiangju and Hongyadong remain worthwhile. What changes the experience is when you arrive, where you look from, how long you stay and whether you slow down around ordinary neighbourhood life.
The goal is not the fastest checklist, but a city that reveals itself. On a hillside terrace overlooking the city, we ordered tea and barbecue, watched the last daylight disappear and waited as the towers across the river came alive.
Sometimes journey design means knowing when a moment is worth waiting for.As the afternoon grew hotter, we paused in the shade and moved into a cool interior filled with plants and water. Weather changed, so did the plan; fatigue called for a slower pace.
A change of plan is where private design begins to do its work.
CHONGQING SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE
Motorcycles are part of Chongqing’s daily life and urban memory. Night lights, river wind, layered roads and moving images have become a distinctive form of local travel portraiture.
We included it for neither speed nor spectacle, but to let a professional team create a dynamic memory in a setting unmistakably Chongqing.
SIGNATURE CUSTOMISATION · TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY
Two professional travel photographers and a lighting specialist joined the journey. Locations, timing and light were considered in advance, while the images emerged naturally through meals, walks, conversation and waiting for nightfall.
“Photography should happen inside the journey—not pause the journey simply to make a picture.”

THE PORTRAITS · TWO VISIONS
Scene, timing, viewpoint and light followed the sisters’ preferred visual language, making what they wanted to create part of the private journey itself.

WHAT CHINAX ARRANGED
Recomposed four days around their interests, energy and the memories they wanted to keep.
A local host, online concierge and on-site coordination absorbed unexpected changes.
Hotels, transfers, private transport, tickets and essential reservations.
Local restaurants chosen for their tastes, with context on how Chongqing people eat.
IN THEIR WORDS
“We were nervous because this was our first time travelling with a local agency, but every part of the journey—from the locations and photography viewpoints to the photographers’ guidance—felt exactly right. After a few days, it no longer felt like being with service providers, but travelling with friends. We would absolutely choose you again.”
